Colleen Wallace
Chapter 1
In the begining

Once upon a time there was a girl named Colleen Wallace. She loved animals and she loved kids. Growing up Colleen spent many hours babysitting and hanging out with animals. She would go over to her neighbor Helen’s house and play with her dog Shotsi. In the summer Colleen would rescue baby birds, find the perfect jar for caterpillars, and save worms from certain death…being stepped on or roasted in the sun. As Colleen got older she continued to babysit and work in daycares.  Shotsi was no longer around, but when Colleen was out and about and saw a dog in someone’s back yard, she had to stop and play.

In 1990 Colleen became a nanny. As the boy grew older that Colleen cared for and started going to school, Colleen had time in her day to fill. She started helping people organize their homes, and working in her sister's flower shop. But Colleen's heart was not in her new ventures. She loved being a nanny and did not want to give that up. Yet, Colleen needed something else. Somehow Colleen needed to get her Mary Poppins and Doctor Dolittle personalities together.  Her journey to her true passion was long, but in 2002 with the suggestion of her mom, Colleen started her pet business and  volunteering at the Humane Society. Finally Colleen’s two personalities came together and she was happy.

Colleen's first client  was with the family she nannied for. Then it grew to the clients she organized, and then people started calling Colleen that she did not even know, and it was good! Colleen has taken care of  most everything, except farm animals and reptiles. She draws the line at pet tarantulas. Well, maybe some day Colleen will get over her fear of spiders. But that day is not today. So for now, Colleen will keep it to just 4 legs.

Chapter 2
The saga continues

It has been almost 5 yrs. since  Colleen Wallace started  her business. She has cleaned up  a whole lot of poo  from outside, and inside, on her pet's, as well as herself. She shares in the mail carriers moto when it comes to the weather.  And so to thank Colleen for all of her hard work, the animals make sure Colleen is properly groomed, and smelling her best.

In November 05', Colleen went to a three day workshop on animal behavior and clicker training through Karen Pryor.

After that weekend of major brain overload, Colleen knew she wanted to become a trainer.

On her journey Colleen will read alot of books, watch videos, attend lectures and workshops, and do alot of practicing on her pets. Let the journey begin!

Since Colleen has started her journey she has gone to a five day workshop through Dogs of course, attended an APDT conference and continues to do on line courses through Raising Canine.  All the training has helped Colleen to become a better pet sitter and dog walker as well.

Sincerely,

Colleen Wallace
